Hungary hosted an electrifying start to the 2024 Drift Kings International season at the Tököl Drift Arena, just a stone’s throw away from Budapest. As the engines roared and tyres screeched, the opening round witnessed a blend of seasoned champions defending their titles and emerging talents making their mark on the drift scene.

Defending his title with finesse, Giorgos Christoforou from Cyprus proved why he is the one to beat in the ProSeries. Despite the fierce competition, Christoforou showcased his mastery, dominating the track and clinching the top spot on the podium. But get ready for a nail-biting season in the Pro Series as the battle for the crown title heats up! With a plethora of contenders like Gediminas Levickas, Donatas Macpreiksas, Patrik Cselotei, Silvestras Bielauskas, Massimo Checchin, Nikos Zahos, and Francesco Giori showcasing their skills, the competition is fiercer than ever. Each racer brought their A-game to the track this weekend, setting the stage for an epic showdown throughout the season. Giorgos Christoforou will have a tough challenge defending his title against these strong opponents. In the Pro Series, only the strongest will emerge victorious!

In a stunning turn of events, 17-year-old sensation Erik Lobmayer emerged victorious in the Pro2 Series, leaving spectators in awe of his skill and determination. Lobmayer’s triumph serves as a testament to the depth of talent in the drifting world as he navigated the challenging course with precision and flair. Dimo Georgiev, Drago Roglinov, and Pavlos Samaras faced a challenging start to the season. However, despite their initial setbacks, they remain strong contenders for the title. Their path to victory, however, will be no easy feat, especially with the formidable presence of Erik Lobmayer, who is competing in the full season.

Making her debut on the international stage, newcomer Viktoria Potoczki stole the spotlight in the Queen Series, demonstrating her prowess behind the wheel and securing a remarkable victory. Potoczki’s achievement marks the beginning of what promises to be an exciting journey for the rising star in the category. The event also provided a platform for another promising talent to showcase her potential, Eleni Samaras making waves in the Queen Series, securing a commendable second-place finish. The favoured contender, Sandra Janusauskaite, faced a setback with engine failure, while the 2021 Drift Queen, Alice Ene, managed only a third-place finish. The competition for the Drift Queen crown promises to be fierce this season.

Throughout the three-day event, competitors grappled with ever-changing weather conditions, adding an extra layer of challenge to an already intense competition. Saturday saw rain-soaked tracks testing drivers’ skills, while Sunday welcomed the sun, offering a brief respite amidst the battles. In a display of local talent, Kevin Piskolty shone brightly during the qualifications, clinching pole position and igniting hopes of a podium finish. However, despite his performance, Piskolty fell short of reaching the coveted podium, showcasing the unforgiving nature of drift competition.

As the drift caravan moves to France for the next leg of the season in early June, anticipation runs high for what promises to be another thrilling chapter in the 2024 Drift Kings International saga. With champions defending their titles, surprise winners emerging, and the promise of 150+ drivers, fans can expect nothing short of adrenaline-pumping action on the fastest drift circuit of the season!
