Jamie Stanton was best during qualification, Stefan Stefanov came 2nd and Kristian Burkovs 3rd.

I had been struggling all day, trying to find my feet. Getting the track to flow consistently was the biggest challenge, so when I did my second qualifying run, it came out of nowhere. Martyn Cowley was probably the most difficult as it was my first battle with nerves and the pressure of having someone such a high calibre so early on.

I don’t think I could of beat Burkov, he is an incredible driver, and the Pontiac is insane. I threw the battle away with an error at the end, and potentially it was a car issue that had plagued us all weekend, but even then, I believe it would have gone one more time.

I’m still speechless. There are still a lot of things I need to work on, but after years of fighting with the car finally, believe it is going in the right direction. Round 2, just going to do the same again. Go and have fun with friends from all over the UK and hopefully bag some more points going forward in the championship.

It was a difficult weekend for us because the oil pump in my drift car stopped working, so I had to borrow another car. Luckily a friend of mine, Maksim, borrowed his Nissan Skyline R33 with RB25, and I could run in the qualification. Sunday was a much better day for me, and I could claim the final step of the podium!
