Welcome to Drift Kings Retro Cup, the planet’s newest and most thrilling drift event! This unique competition showcases drivers behind the wheel of their classic drift cars, emphasizing skill and style in what we proudly name “the first-ever international historic drift race.” Get ready to feel the nostalgia in the air, evoking the drifting vibe of 2005!
The race structure remains familiar, featuring practice, qualification, and Top32 battles like every Drift Kings event. What sets Drift Kings Retro Cup apart are the specific requirements for entry. We welcome all classic drift cars to this event, categorizing them into “Classics” or “Outlaws” categories.
The Drift Kings Retro Cup is exclusively open to classic drift cars produced before 1995, with a maximum tyre width of 205. Only street tyres are allowed; semi-slick tyres are prohibited from maintaining the event’s spirit and ensuring a level playing field. Participants are encouraged to preserve their vehicles’ original specifications, favouring classic components and technology. Any modifications must align with the event’s spirit and pass approval by the technical inspection team.
Cars meeting all these requirements will be admitted to the “Classics” category. To accommodate all retro fans, an “Outlaw” category is designated for cars that do not meet the pure “classic” criteria but embrace the retro spirit.
All vehicles must adhere to Retro Cup safety standards outlined in the Drift Kings rules E section, a lighter version based on Appendix K (FIA Historic Competitions)
The emphasis in this competition is on drifting skills over power—the man before the machine—and Serres’ technical layout promises an event that keeps everyone on the edge of their seats.
