With the Top 24 competition places determined by the results from Round 2, positions 25-32 would be decided by competitive tandem runs in the Seeding Bracket. The top eight finishers would advance to Saturday’s competition heats, while the bottom five were eliminated.
BMW drivers dominated the Seeding Bracket, claiming the top three positions
Shanahan qualified 25th as the winner. The 2023 Drift Masters Champion will meet Dan Burkett (USA) in tomorrow’s Top 32 competition heats.
Shanahan defeated LZ in an incredibly close Seeding Bracket Final, which saw both drivers achieve infeasible proximity to each other’s cars. LZ will be paired with Forrest Wang (USA) in the Top 32.
Third place Brutskiy will face Matt Field (USA).
Reigning Formula DRIFT PROSPEC Champ Ben Hobson (USA) failed to break out of the Seeding Bracket for the third time in his Pennzoil / BC Racing Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD, continuing his incredibly frustrating season.
The eliminated drivers were Hobson, Federico Sceriffo (Italy), Joao Barion (Brazil), Kyle Kohan (USA) and Mike Power (USA).
