Last year, we celebrated 20 years of Irish drifting. While this milestone is significant, it is only the beginning of a sport that remains young and full of potential. Over the years, the national championship here in Ireland has undergone many iterations, each bringing new talent, competition and new fans to the sport.
Globally, we’ve seen some national drift championships fade away. Still, one thing is clear: Ireland has produced some of the world’s most competitive and talented drivers, and we have no plans of letting that legacy fade.
Through the past two decades of Irish drifting, one thing has remained constant: the dedicated crew. Marshals, judges, organizers, and media professionals have all driven this sport forward through passion alone, and we want nothing more than to see it go bigger and better.
We are proud to launch the Irish Drift Series, Ireland’s newest premier drift championship, this year. This exciting new direction has one primary goal: fuel the latest generation of Irish champions. With initiatives like our Winter Drift Series and Virtual Drift Series, we aim to make drifting more accessible, providing newcomers opportunities to learn, grow, and carve their path to the main stage.
This is all made possible under the newly formed Federation of Irish Drift. An organization focused on driving the sport forward affordably and sustainably.
