Drift Masters has announced that they had worked out a completely new starting procedure that will be applied from the 2025 season. The new system includes three new elements:
- Starting chicane is removed, chase driver will be positioned 8 meters behind the lead car
- Start light system: lead driver will have 4 seconds to prepare and 1 second to start once the light gets green.
- Battle order: the higher qualified driver will choose whether to lead or chase in the first run of the battle
The global drift community has not seen such pioneering changes in the starting procedure before. The organizers expect even closer battles from removal of the chicane and the 8 meter rule and the modification of the light system must ensure the chase driver that the leader has no opportunity for tricking. The opportunity to choose battle order will give room for more tactics for the higher qualified driver that can turn out to be a great advantage. What do you expect from the new starting procedure?
