Wiecek makes it three in Ireland

Round 4 of the 2025 Drift Masters season took us to a packed-out Ireland, and it delivered everything fans have come to expect: wild One More Time battles, underdog breakthroughs, mechanical heartbreaks, and one of the most emotionally charged wins of the season.

A Battle for the Ages

After falling to Conor Shanahan in Finland’s Top 8, the stage was set for a highly anticipated rematch, and it lived up to the hype. Wiecek and Shanahan faced off in the final, with both drivers pushing their cars and each other to the absolute limit. The first runs couldn’t separate them, and the judges called One More Time.

But in the final chase, Shanahan suffered a debead, just before crossing the finish line. After a tense review, the win was awarded to Wiecek, ending a 675-day dry spell and launching him from tenth to second in the championship standings.

Shanahan Strengthens His Lead

While he missed out on the top step, Conor Shanahan still walked away from Mondello with a strong result and the championship lead firmly in hand with a 60-point lead. His second-place finish marks back-to-back podiums for the reigning champ, who is now starting to look like a title favourite.

It caps off a massive month for the Irish driver with all sights now set on keeping the momentum in Riga, Latvia.

Pesur Proves Himself Again

Estonia’s Kevin Pesur continued his season with another electric performance, securing his second podium of the year and showing once again why he’s become one of the most consistent threats on the grid.

Pesur’s day included one of the most talked-about battles of the weekend, a shock win over James Deane in the Top 32 – before pushing through a stacked bracket and eventually earning third place after Marco Zakouril’s engine failure ruled him out of the playoff.

A Stacked Top 16 For The Ages

The Top 16 at Mondello Park delivered a wave of high-pressure battles, with championship contenders, local favourites, and dark horses all stepping up. The level of driving hit new heights as drivers pushed the limits through every zone, resulting in razor-close calls, surprise exits, and a few mechanical heartbreaks that reshaped the bracket. With One More Time battles and edge-of-your-seat moments across the board, the intensity only grew as the grid was narrowed down towards the final.

Eyes on Latvia

As the championship crosses its halfway point, the standings are tighter than ever. Wiecek is now on the charge in second, Shanahan holds firm at the top, and Pesur is not far behind with 168 points on the board.

Next up: one of the most iconic drift venues in the world, Bikernieki Circuit, Riga. With momentum shifting to the second half of the season, the 2025 Drift Masters season is only going to get wilder.
