PowerFest Slovakia Ring – Race Overview

The traditional season-opener Pro category competition of the Hungarian National Championship at Slovakia Ring delivered highly exhilarating Powerfest moments for the participating drivers and attending spectators. Emotions ranged from joy to heartbreak as the 1-day event featured dramatic turns and powerful scenes.

To start with, the 2024 defending champion, Tamás Magyar had a very unfortunate mechanical issue making him unable to get on the start line for the qualifications. Magyar was not the only pilot to fall victim to bad luck: his teammate Krisztián Zilizi, and the Cselőtei family – Patrik and his father Csaba – also had to retitre due to technical problems.

The spectators of the Powerfest were witnessing a thrilling qualification session: Marco Zakouril topped up qualifying with a 97-point run, followed by Norbert Zamecz in the second position and Pavel Hudecek in the third. Subsequently, the Top 32 began with a buzz of excitement and anticipation. József Bimbó and the earlier mentioned Csaba Cselőtei lost their fight in the first battle as a result of unexpected technical issues, while three more 2025 title contenders: Norbert Zamecz, Michele Landolfi and Oszkár Bócsik advanced on to the Top 16.

Eventually, Oszkár finished the race in this stage, and Michele from Italy reached the great eight. On the other hand, Norbert Zamecz’s journey led straight into the semi-finals, where he secured the win against the Czech Michal Reichert. The tandem battles of the final four were packed with adrenaline and intensity: after an immensely fierce endgame, Marco Zakouril came out on top, thus making the Czech Republic proud.

The most successful Hungarian driver at the first round of the championship, Norbert Zamecz, looks forward to the next showdown from second position overall. Driver of the iconic and fan-favourite carbon kevlar Hachiroku, Clemens Kauderer from Austria, caught the third step on the podium.
